Description: This is a pair of carved Burmese figures, 26 inches high with gilt and red lacquer human bodies and animal … more This is a pair of carved Burmese figures, 26 inches high with gilt and red lacquer human bodies and animal heads. Both were acquired in 1952 by US diplomat Alfred Wells in what was then newly-independent Burma. They have been in our family since that date. I include a photo from the 1970s of them on top of a cupboard. less
