Irwin Jacob Rosenhouse (1924-2002) "Water From the Rock" 1966; Old Testament woodblock print; pencil signed, titled and numbered 10 of 150.
This illustration "The Rabbi's Bible" published in 1966.
Rosenhouse worked as a designer at MOMA early in his career. Later he taught at several New York City institutions while working as a book illustrator for many children, religious and history books. In addition, he created album covers during the golden age of record design for Smithsonian Folkways, MGM and Columbia.
