Middle square flips by simply popping it up from the bottom, which is easy as the square is light and is fitted in well. One side of the square looks like a normal table, and the other side looks like a chess board. Two drawers for game pieces, one on each end. Drawers blend with table, no pulls, and slide easily. Gorgeously carved cabriole legs.

Solid and sturdy, with only very minor cosmetic imperfections consistent with age.
