There is a mark near the fin on the surface of the black base (please see photo close up). There is some wear to the base and the piece. This is a heavy duty brass sculpture so it has worn well. There is a patina to the finish. Very nice. There is wear to the makers mark and lint and wear on the velvet on the under side of the base. less
