Renato Vanzelli was born in Padua in 1932. He obtained a diploma from the "Pietro Selvatico" State Art Institute, where he later taught until 1959. Starting in 1954, he began to draw and develop artisanal techniques to create languages art on metals.
In the 1960s, he began an operational process that led him to develop organized structures, which are composed through the use of modular forms. He participated in numerous exhibitions, including the Gorizia Youth Biennale and the "Youth Art Exhibition" in Rome in 1954, the Gubbio Metal Biennial in 1964 and the IX International Bronzetto Competition in Padua in 1973. In 1976, his first solo exhibition was held at the "La Chiocciola" Gallery in Padua.
Renato Venzelli passed away on 28 February 1993 at the Este hospital. In addition to the works created in bronze, steel and lead, his exhibition itinerary also highlights drawings-projects on paper and casts in wood and wax, highlighting the different phases through which Venzelli arrived at the definitive realization of the works.
