Pair of handmade Wrought Iron Chandeliers dating back to around 1970. Monumental twelve-light Italian chandeliers from the winter garden of an ancient country villa in Lombardy, in good condition. The masterful craftsmanship of wrought iron of this pair of antique chandeliers with a circular basket structure is inspired by intricate curved leaf motifs of Rococo style, skilfully combined with lines of a more classic and traditional design, more rigorous elements such as the high twisted uprights that they can be seen in the chandeliers and in the lighting of period castles and cathedrals.
The imposing dimensions of this pair of twelve-arm suspensions - 160 cm high with a diameter of 107 cm - are lightened by the balance of the lines, the airy lightness of the vertical development and the composition rich in harmonious spirals and phytomorphic details that make this pair of antique chandeliers, extremely versatile architectural elements for placement in contemporary interiors.
The worn patina of the wrought iron reveals traces of an old green lacquer which gives this pair of antique chandeliers, Lombard artefacts from the second half of the 20th century, a suggestive, fascinating and anything but rustic flavour.
Not electrified, the pair of iron suspensions is in good general condition, currently as a pair of candle holders, see the images of the winter garden; the wooden candles visible in the images were only placed for the photo shoot. less
