Rare and authentic all chrome “Cityscape” patchwork cocktail / coffee table by Paul Evans for Directional, complete with original sales receipt. This table was originally purchased in Portland, Oregon in 1971 at Meier and Frank, a subsidiary of the May Department Stores Company.
The table consists of two modular base pieces with a patchwork of chrome panels covering the surfaces, creating a kaleidoscope that reflects the room in which the table is situated.
The receipt shows the original purchase price, the manufacturer (Directional), and the style (“PE-208-Chrome”), where PE indicates the designer Paul Evans. The name and address of the owner have been redacted here. The physical receipt will be included with the table, a lovely bonus for collectors of mid century furniture. less
