This exquisite antique porcelain table lamp features a striking depiction of Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion, deeply revered in Chinese Buddhism. The name Guanyin is derived from Guanshiyin, meaning "Observing the Sounds or Cries of the World," reflecting her role as a compassionate listener and protector.
Standing at 16 inches tall, the lamp's figurine boasts a serene celadon hue that adds a touch of tranquility to any space. Guanyin assumes a regal stance, her severe expression conveying both strength and benevolence. She is adorned in three layers of ornate traditional Chinese clothing, each layer showcasing intricate floral, scrolled and vertical pleated patterns.
Around her neck, Guanyin wears a delicate fabric neckpiece that elegantly extends over her shoulder. Her long, voluminous sleeves cascade from her crossed arms, embodying the elegance of traditional attire while adding an ethereal quality to the figure. In her right hand, she holds a folded fan, over her left hand.
The figurine has a round base that features a complementary floral pattern, harmonizing beautifully with the intricate designs of Guanyin's clothing.
