- Up for sale is this charming pen, ink, and watercolor wash rendering from the art portfolio of one Barbara Crist … more Up for sale is this charming pen, ink, and watercolor wash rendering from the art portfolio of one Barbara Crist of Winchester, Indiana, an art student in the early 1950s. Rendered on 11x15 board, it is signed and dated 1953 on the back (with her student number and address) and matted in a 16x20 mat for ease of framing. A real midcentury timepiece, this is one of several Crist pieces we are currenting selling, but the only one featuring a paste-up of actual ad copy, which we love: "Tissue-sheers... by the dozens!' and "Disciplined lawns". Imagine the chaos of the lawns were undiscliplined, after all! less
