The Aalto Vase by Iittala is an icon of Finnish design and glass art, with its unique organic shape. Alvar Aalto designed the Aalto Vase in various sizes and colours for the 1937 Paris World's Fair. Its legendary shape is inspired by Finnish landscapes and lakes. Since then, the Aalto form has been reinterpreted many times, and today it is expressed in a variety of iconic objects around the world.

Alvar Aalto never dictated the use of his glass creations, always leaving it up to the user to decide. This freedom to interpret the origin and function of the object is undoubtedly what allows the Aalto collection to remain so modern and timeless.
