Trained at the beaux-arts in bourges and paris, his works from this early period are rare. After world war ii, he developed a distinctive style, blending minimalist animal sculptures with functional pottery pieces, often ash-glazed. His creations, characterized by bold and stylized forms, revitalized traditional pottery themes while remaining deeply rooted in craftsmanship.
