This is a rare table by Alexander Chevrie of Paris. The table is in very good condition for ots age and features rare breche d' alep marble and superb jewelry quality bronze castings and mounts. The table is signed and labeled. The table is a masterpiece of mahogany, bronze and marble by one of Paris's finest cabinetmakers. Dates to the 1875 era and is signed. A. Chevrié worked in Paris in the late 19th century and is recorded at 11 rue Portefoin from 1878 until 1886. An ébéniste of high quality, he participated in the 1878 and 1889 Expositions Universelles, being awarded a silver medal at the latter. A member of the jury for numerous exhibitions, he also received the medal of the Légion d'Honneur in 1894A. Chevrié worked in Paris in the late 19th century and is recorded at 11 rue Portefoin from 1878 until 1886.
