The weave is completely intact and was probably replaced a few years ago. At this time some parts of the wooden structure were also repaired - see pictures. The beech wood is stained walnut color. The shellac surfaces have been revised so that the sofa now looks very elegant again. The paper label, which unfortunately only exists in part, is the first paper trademark of the Thonet company and refers to an early year of manufacture around 1860. The sun with the number embossed into the seat frame can also only be found on very old Thonet models. Therefore I assume that the sofa is around 150 years old.
