Trained as an art historian, Marlou Pulles has turned her fascination for art into still-life photography. With her photography, she wants to capture stillness, elegance, and pure forms wrapped in compositions that evoke wondering and radiate slowness. By stimulating the viewer through the play of color, shape, and a minimum of visual language, she draws attention to looking at everyday objects with different eyes. She chooses objects that our hectic society does not always consider how beautiful they can be. The beautiful natural shapes of the quail eggs, with their special texture and appearance, are placed in a different context and come to life and form a new language. The quail eggs seem to fall on each other; they float and give the composition a playful character. It creates a dynamic slowness, where the balanced compositions give room to reflect on the beauty of the smaller things in life.
'Escape' is meticulously printed on Hahnemuhle Photorag Paper, a premium 99% cotton paper, to ensure the highest quality. The photograph measures 50x50cm and is surrounded by a 2cm white border, where the artist's signature is proudly displayed.
It is part of a Limited Edition, 3 #10. less
