- A Daum Pate de Verre Four Seasons "Hiver" art glass plate by Raymond Corbin. This beautiful piece of art glass … more A Daum Pate de Verre Four Seasons "Hiver" art glass plate by Raymond Corbin. This beautiful piece of art glass is a part of a series by Raymond Corbin for Daum titled "Four Seasons". The plates were crafted over the course of multiple years using a very old and difficult technique called "Pate de Verre", which translates from French to "glass paste". This method consists of taking ground up glass and mixing it up with different colored pigments and mediums, and then pouring it into a mold and fusing it together. The result is a very beautiful and unique piece of glass. This method was created by ancient Greek artisans. Corbin uses this method to great success in this series. This particular plate is titled "Hiver" (Winter). It features a beautiful blue coloration and artwork in the center. This piece was completed in 1970, and is signed and numbered by the artist on the backside. Measures 10.5 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick less
