This very high quality desk is made from solid quarter-sawn oak, the 'S' curve roll top opens and close with ease and encloses an extravagantly fitted interior with 28 drawers and 8 lateral and horizontal document files, the original key is present and locks both the roll top and the drawers to the base. Just below the roll top is an inset plaque with the company name, " The Indianapolis Cabinet Company, Indianapolis Indiana, USA".
The base of the desk having two candle slides to the top, the twin pedestals are carved with floral Eastlake style carving, each side with four drawers the base drawer being deeper than the three above, both the sides and back of the desk are paneled and finished so the desk can easily sit in the middle of a room.
The desk is in excellent condition, no damage or condition issues, the finish is a rich mellow honey color, this substantial roll top desk is ready to grace your home or office.

The Indianapolis Cabinet Co., was established in 1862, the firm made high quality desks until the mid 1890s when they had taken over some of the designs of the Wooton Desk Co, in 1894 the owners were indicted before the US Supreme Court for aiding the president of the Indianapolis national Bank to misappropriate $375,000 (almost $14 million today) less
