- The brass is still bright and shiny in most places. It appears that nothing in this set was ever used … moreThe brass is still bright and shiny in most places. It appears that nothing in this set was ever used in a fire, as there is no black charring on the pieces. However, there are some imperfections just due to age. The piece with the most imperfections is the stand for the fireplace tools. There is verdigris on the base of the stand, both on the top and underneath the stand. There are also some black marks on the set (most are on the stand). I have pointed out a few of these imperfections in the pictures. Please note that I have not pointed to each imperfection in the pictures, and that there are numerous small black or green areas on the pieces. less

Beautiful, rare set of Virginia Metalcrafters fireplace tools and stand with matching andirons. It is rare to find the stand, tools, and andirons in this style all together and in such good condition. This pattern is called a dolphin, mermaid, sea monster, or Chinese dragon.
This set includes a base for the tools, tongs, a shovel, a broom, a poker, and two andirons, totaling 7 pieces for the complete set.
Due to the size and heaviness of these items, this set will be sent in two separate boxes. Please note that these pieces are heavy (especially the andirons).
