Antique Chinese turquoise and aubergine glazed figure of a dignitary Ming Dynasty, 17th century mounted as a table lamp. The figure enthroned on a rectangular base rising on auspicious clouds with a white crane at the side, his face with a serene expression. The clouds symbolize good fortune and the white crane symbolizes longevity and wisdom. Mounted on a conforming carved gilt wood base.
The lamp measures 29" tall to the top of the harp and the wooden base measures 8 3/4" wide across the front x 6" front to back. The lamp measures 21 3/4" tall to the top of the socket. The figure alone without the base and lamp fittings measures 14" tall.
Good condition - old repair to break in the figure near the base - see photographs. Displays very well.
