Kingo Fujii (American, 1927-2012). Fujii attended The Chicago Art Institute. Fujii's work included oil, watercolor, lithography, jewelry and sculpture. He was known as a scientific illustrator, his interests and works include: zoological, botanical and archeological among others. He is also an illustrator of children’s books. He has illustrated for
Encyclopedia Britannica, Harper and Row, Highlander Press, Reverie Publishing, and other
textbook publishers. The words of Fujii "I paint emotion, feelings. It’s like an unexplained Surrealist. Dali makes up his own title; what is inspired by his dreams and his sub consciousness. What I do is paint subconsciously really, so I’m painting emotion, feeling and even ideas but not just painting a figure or landscape or that sort of thing".
