Extremely rare fan produced by the company AEROS during the 1940 in Germany. This fan is part of the permanent collection of the Wolfsonian Museum in Miami.
These fans are extremely rare because many of them were destroyed during the II World war as they had been specifically produced for the III Reich Air Safety Ministry who was in charge of the protection against air raids on Germany.
The particularity of these fans is their obvious airplane shape (some say it was shaped after the famous stuka aircraft design). This design comprehends a full set of wings and streamlined landing gears. The great streamlined foot finishes the overall effect that indeed this fan is about to fly away.
This particular model is the only known worldwide and feature a bakelite main body, the remaining structure is white enameled steel and blades
The fan has commensurate wear as seen on the pictures, the metal shows corrosion on the blades, the enamel has yellowed and the screws holding the fan cage are not original.(this was originally probably riveted but the holders in the bakelite holding the cage have enlarged over time)
