This Japanese stoneware bowl, 11.5 cm in diameter and 7 cm in height, is a true testimony to Japanese ceramic art. Its Wan-Nari shape, inspired by turned wooden bowls, evokes simplicity and elegance. Broken and delicately restored by hand using the traditional kintsugi technique, it features subtle veins of 24-karat gold that highlight the history and beauty of its repairs. The pure white Shino glaze delicately lets the color of the clay shine through, while the turning marks add a touch of authenticity. The spiral-shaped foot (kajiri-kodai) harmoniously completes the whole. The potter's mark, affixed with a stamp under the foot, attests to its authenticity.
