This historical black and white photograph captures visitors exploring the ancient site, with the weathered stones and classical architecture offering a glimpse into Greece's rich cultural heritage. The image reflects the growing interest in archaeological sites during the post-war era, as tourists from around the world flocked to witness the remnants of ancient civilizations. Andres was born 1905 in Germany and passed away 1992. He started his career as a photographer in 1920. He was one of the first photographers, who used a Leica. His images today are displayed in several museums, for example in the Civil War Museum in Salamanca, Spain, the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland, the Industrial Museum in Oberhausen, Germany. Andres was a contributor for Edward Steichens Exhibition "The family of man" at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1951.
