A nostalgic journey to Rome, Italy, in the 1950s, featuring a Fiat Topolino driving along the historic Via Appia Antica near Rome. The photograph, taken in 1954 by Erich Andres, captures the timeless charm of Italy's ancient roads, lined with cypress trees and Roman ruins. The solitary figure walking alongside the road adds to the sense of history and solitude, blending the past with the present in this evocative scene. Andres was born 1905 in Germany and passed away 1992. He started his career as a photographer in 1920. He was one of the first photographers, who used a Leica. His images today are displayed in several museums, for example in the Civil War Museum in Salamanca, Spain, the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland, the Industrial Museum in Oberhausen, Germany. Andres was a contributor for Edward Steichens Exhibition "The family of man" at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1951. The print is new, a Fine Art Print on high quality paper (Hahnemühle) made by Whitewall. It comes to you in a tube. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
