It is the work of the well-known painter, Lajos Markos (1917-1993), who worked as a portrait painter in New York City. Markos painted a number of society figures, as well as celebrities such as Robert F. Kennedy, John Wayne, and President Ronald Reagan. This portrait dates to approximately 1960, and is signed to the lower right.
