Rare, one of a kind objects! Both Folk Art pieces are painted to look like male Mallard Ducks. These rare Decoys show rust on the metal duck forms and wear on the painted metal. Thie metal was left untreated. The wood float portion was wiped down with a single coat of a beeswax treatment. The float appears to have been put together from various pieces of scrap wood. Ballast consists of metal - possibly lead- flattened into straps and folded to make a keel. At least one of the sheet or tin metal ducks may have been skewed from use or to make it appear less lineal and more lively.
