18th Century French Barley Twist Coffee Table is a lasting tribute to the master craftsmen of rural France, who crafted such gems with what are considered today as crude hand-tools and simple lathes. The finely turned "H" stretcher and the barley twist legs show the skill of the wood turner, while all joints are pegged mortise & tenon, used for centuries and perfected in Europe as the most enduring and secure way to craft fine furniture. Solid planks on top have endured centuries and are poised to endure more, creating a lasting family heirloom for you and yours to enjoy decade after decade!
