These chairs feature split wedge … more Offered is a pair of Nichols & Stone Birdcage Windsor armchairs in an ebony finish. These chairs feature split wedge mortise and tenon joinery in the seats & top of the crest rails with faux bamboo turned spindle legs & H stretchers characteristic in Birdcage Windsor design. No longer in production, Nichols & Stone was purchased in 2008 by Stickley Furniture. As with most pieces of preowned furniture these chairs show wear and use commensurate with age. There is an old repair to one of the joints at the end of one arm. It is shown in the photos. There has also been some touch up painting to the finish by a previous owner. Please look carefully at the pictures as they make up an important part of the description. Overall this is a hard to find pair of Nichols and Stone birdcage Windsors in good condition. They would look great in any country kitchen or dining room. Questions are always welcome. less
