Introducing a rare six-drawer dresser designed by the influential Barney Flagg for Drexel's Parallel Line. Constructed from a mix of solid and veneered walnut with exceptional old-growth woodgrains this expansive dresser is as functional as it is aesthetically pleasing. Featuring intricately-carved handles, six large drawers with ample storage space and angular shapes that harken back to the Atomic era this dresser is a true American gem.
Barney Flagg was Drexel's most prolific designer of the Mid-Century Modern period. After serving in the Air Force during the Second World War, Flagg studied architecture and design and began a fruitful partnership with the Drexel Furniture Co. designing multiple pieces for multiple lines including the "Parallel", "Composite" and "Panorama" lines all of which have received critical acclaim and are highly collectible worldwide. His pieces remain timeless, iconic and uniquely American.
The Drexel Furniture Co. began over a hundred years ago in Hickory, North Carolina with a single product and a simple vision. The product was a made-to-order dining chair. In the decades since, their product range has evolved into an assortment of timeless designs, drawn from significant periods and places, and from the talents of some of the world's most respected designers such as the aforementioned Barney Flagg and Kipp Stewart. Drexel is still producing pieces to this day with much reverence given to their craftsmanship and use of natural materials.
With it's exceptional use and shaping of American black walnut, plentiful storage space and intricate detailing this gorgeous piece is sure to make a BOLD impression in any bedroom or living space. Make it yours today and elevate your bedroom's aesthetic to new heights before it's gone forever. less
