This impressive wrought-iron lectern is replete with Gothic sensibility. Three open work flaring iron stalks form the book support for the lectern while an articulated extension serves as a candle holder in the form of a fleur-de-lys. The base is tripod form with an elegant ovular motif while the stem boasts a beautiful patina and is interrupted b a series of elegant circular knops that have a lovely peened and hammered surface capable of reflecting the glimmer of the candle light from above.
More than utilitarian, this lectern is a work-of-art and a statement object for any suitable interior desiring mood, texture and a unique ambience.
Condition commensurate with age. Overall stable with varying oxidation and patina along the surface of the iron. Old wax residue still present on portions of the iron, notably where a candle would be supported.
Please note, this item ships from our storage facility in Belgium and will require additional time to pack and ship to the USA.
