It was acquired in 1952 by my father, US diplomat Alfred Wells, in what was then newly-independent Burma. It has gilt embossed metal and wood sides.


The chest has been with our family since he acquired it. It used to have a wooden top, which was not original. This top has been removed and we do not have it. less
