It hales from an estate in the Santa Cruz Mountain's in San Francisco from a Japanese artist the collection included Hysong and Takaezo. The craftsmanship is superb, with every curve and torso meticulously crafted. It is signed , the quality and artistry of this piece speak for themselves.

CLAUDE Horan (1922-2014) was a professor emeritus of art at University of Hawai‘i—Manoa, where he taught from 1947 to his retirement in 1978. He is the recipient of the 2004 Koa Outstanding Achievement Award, presented by Kapiolani Community College to visual artists and individuals connected to the arts for dedication to and advancement of the arts in Hawai‘i. hE WAS ALSO A TEACHER AND FRIEND TO MANY GREAT hAWAIIAN ARTISTS SUCH AS Toshiko Takaezu, AND JOSEPH HYSONG
