Description: This is a high quality Murano cat that has a brown and cream striped design at its center. This cat … more This is a high quality Murano cat that has a brown and cream striped design at its center. This cat is attributed to Alfredo Barbini. He is 8”H x 4”W and is in excellent condition, there are a few bubbles in the glass which show that he is a hand blown piece, Murano artisans have bubbles in their glass because it is unethical for them to use lead in their glass. The bottom is highly polished, another sign of Murano, and there is some wear on the bottom from being moved across the table or shelf, not bad but you can see he dates from the fifties or thereabouts. He is in the Murano Zoo, which is where I always check for Murano pieces, and when you hold him you can feel his quality. Very heavy and polished. less
