The cavetto is decorated with alternating panels of flowers, fruits, birds, and butterflies on a white ground framed by a melon shaped border, and panels of court scenes with Mandarin figures framed by 'C' scroll borders. The flat rim is decorated wit six cartouches of birds perched on prunus branches on a white ground with a black scrollwork border, all of which is reserved on a gold ground festooned with fruits, flowers, butterflies, and scrolling green tendrils.
