Set of of 12 Late 19th/Early 20th Century (Circa 1890's) New England, Pennsylvania Plank Fiddleback Chairs. Probably Chapel or Sunday school chairs, handmade each one a little different but they are a matched set. Pine wood, or possibly ash or popular but not a hardwood. The finish is a wonderful faux Birds Eye maple, very popular finish in the English Victorian era and consequently in New England, east coast of America, giving them a charming aged patina finish. Perfect fit for a historical Cape Cod, New England, Pennsylvania city or coastal home. No makers mark.
All the joints are firm and the chairs sit perfectly on the ground. No wibbly-wobby!
