Remarkable 19th century French Louis XVI style ormolu mounted white marble clock with love birds.
Retailed by Tiffany.
The clock is surmounted with two kissing love birds among foliage and floral garlands intertwined with a flaming torch, over a dial face with scrolling foliage hands and Roman numerals, the face is flanked with intricate bronze work of a guitar with ribbons to one side and a Roman helmet with a serpent to another, all supported by a carved marble frieze mounted with ormolu appliques, resting on four gilt bronze reeded feet.
The movement is stamped:
"Medaille Vince 1855" with "69."
