The table seemed to … moreThis table is in good vintage condition with minor wear and imperfections reflecting age and use. The table seemed to have been finished with a clear epoxy or poly a having a smooth clear lacquered top-coat. There are also some clear top coat drips along the underside of the tables edge, fairly common when using a thick top-coat such as epoxy or clear poly where excess would run off the edge. We did not refinish it but the top may have been re-lacquered. Video available on request. less

Monumental oval post modern pedestal dining or conference table by Karl Springer circa 1980s. This beautifully handmade table is covered in goatskin pelts that are patch-worked and secured under a thick lacquer finish. The texture of the various skins creates a mosaic like quality under the shiny lacquer. The table sits on two half circle goatskin pedestal bases and the top is finished in Springer's iconic knife edge. Single panel top with the more common brighter butter blonde toned color variation. The color is a mix of off-whites and cream with yellow undertones. The Springer number is clear on the table's base.
We have contacted Karl Springer LTD, the company authorized to produce and authenticate Karl Springer designs currently and they have verified its authenticity. Via email they stated:
“At this point I will certify that it is in fact a Karl Springer KNIFE EDGE DINING TABLE
