Intended to mimic and replace actual ivory, "French ivory" was all the rage in the Twenties, employed in all manner of accessories -- dresser sets especially -- as well as jewelry. This exquisite confection offers deeply carved chrysanthemum blossoms, centered with tiny clear crystals. It is rare to find this material in as pristine condition as we find here, no discoloration or chips or damage of any kind. The silver-plated hinge is crisp and secure.
