Victorian hand painted porcelain fairing trinket box featuring a pair of frogs bathing in a clam shell in front of an oval, with gilded accents.
This type of boxes and figurines are known as china fairings, as they were given away as prizes at fairs during the Victorian era. They were usually manufactured in Continental Europe for the British market, notably in Germany by Conta & Boehme
