A Rare Victorian Painting. Sweet Peas were the favorite flower of Wealthy Victorians. The Spencer family (Princess Diana’s ancestors) were some of the first in England to cultivate Sweet Peas in Althorp House.
My mother brought this painting from England when she moved to USA. It is the only Sweet Pea painting I have ever seen.
The frame is wood and gesso and stunningly beautiful. It has some minor areas that could be retouched and cleaned.
There is a minor repair to the painting which was professionally repaired by a local art gallery. Please look to the back of the painting and the enlarged last picture on the listing.
