Table lamp from the Art Deco period in France. The base of the lamp is made of stuccoed hand carved wood that has been Entirely gold-leafed. The trunk of the tree supports the lamp with the palm leaves at the top. The texture and detail make this a unique and striking piece. The lamp requires a medium base bulb up to 100 watts. It has been newly wired to fit US standards and includes a silk blend white drum shade. The lamp is in excellent vintage condition – the photos accurately depict the condition.

Ultimately, the Art Deco style is a pastiche of many styles, all coming together in a desire for modernism. Spanning from the beginning of World War I to the beginning of World War II, the style affected design, both commercial and independent, on a massive scale and continues to be seen in fashion, jewelry, and furniture today.
