This trunk, which probably would have been used to transport military items, has an intriguing history. The plaque gives us an insight into the owner "chas geo fothergill, 15 kensington park gdns, london w". Charles fothergill resided at this residence between 1833 - 1919. The trunk also has its army & navy metal badge to the interior "army & navy c.s.l. Makers london * bombay * calcutta *".
