Title: "Tom Marioni, Found Painting, Museum of Conceptual Art, San Francisco, CA c. 1981." Dramatic candid image of significant Bay Area artist Tom Marioni in the Museum of Concept Art (1970-1984) he founded, which early in 1973 moved to 75 Third Street, above Breen's Bar, San Francisco. Marioni wrote me, "Found painting [on the floor] must be about the restoration by David Ireland in 1976 or 77."
f. Stop Fitzgerald (Richard Minissali) photographed the punk and avant garde art scene there in the 1970s and '80s.
Gelatin silver print, pristine condition, sheet size 11 x 14" with attached signature and date on verso (which gives date as 1987, the date of the print, not the negative). Published in "Doc-u-men-tia," by f.Stop Fitzgerald, 1987, in which I wrote an overview essay. Has been in drawer since then, untouched.
