Born in 1925, Peter Løvig Nielsen was a leading name in Danish design from the modern Scandinavian movement of the 1950s and 1960s. Renowned for his elaborate desks, tables and storage furniture, Nielsen, like many of his Danish contemporaries, favored high-quality woods such as teak, rosewood, walnut and rosewood. The mix of solid and teak composition is in overall very good shape showing only minor signs of wear such as surface scratches, the above mentioned veneer repair, a subtle water ring, and minor areas of discoloration (all of which can be seen in the detail photos provided). With that said the wood is in overall very good original condition. As purists, we strive to keep our pieces in as original condition as possible. However we offer a full-range of expert restoration services from carpentry to upholstery to fabrication. If you're interested in having this coffee table restored, please message us prior to checkout to discuss options and pricing. The two sleek drawers open and close with ease and there are six small cubbies on one side perfect for magazines or books. There is one small shelf that is missing - however we can have one custom-made if desired. Thanks to the castor-feet the table easily rolls 360 degrees adding to the versatility of this already incredibly versatile table. The table also includes a glass topper that functions a protective surface for the table top. This stylish table is highly-functional, structurally sound and ready for a literal lifetime more of use.
