Designed by Carlo Jensen and manufactured in Denmark … more An absolutely stunning Danish Mid-Century rosewood wall unit by Poul Hundevad Co. Designed by Carlo Jensen and manufactured in Denmark in the 1960's, this bookcase features the finest thick, old growth Brazilian rosewood veneer over a solid wood core. As we have come to expect from this esteemed manufacturer, the rosewood has simply stunning grain pattern and deep rich colour.

There are 4, wood core, adjustable shelves in the top area, with 4 inlaid sliding doors which run on plastic tracks. The covered door area and tracks can be adjusted to different levels of the bookcase, offering many visual display arrangements, 5 smaller adjustable shelves in the bottom left area suitable for vinyl record albums - and an adjustable long shelf on the right bottom.

The original hand made aluminum shelf racks are visible in the pictures.

The entire interior is finished in the same high grade rosewood veneer as the exterior. Giving the entire item a truly luxurious and sophisticated look. The craftsmanship is precise. Use this in a den or living room as a wall unit or desk for those days you are working from home.

This unit is also part a Canadian and gay film history. It can be wall mounted and used in a famous 1980's Canadian Quebecois film about 2 gay fathers of a boy. The unit was purchase by the current owner from King St. Antiques in Toronto in 2007 and has been well cared for.
