Clad in blue, this simple yet detailed work displays the uncomplicated life of the era.

With the birds eye maple frame included, it measures 7 1/2" wide by 8 1/2" high. While the blue frock may not stand up to Vogue standards and the pull toy is not automated, it seems to me the child is quite content.

I am guessing this painting is from the United Kingdom but could be early American.
