An elegant two drawer sauteuse commode with a shaped front and tall legs with good quality bronze mounts, the sabot … more An elegant two drawer sauteuse commode with a shaped front and tall legs with good quality bronze mounts, the sabot feet somewhat unusual for their dainty paw form. The very fine and subtly colored tulipwood marquetry wood inlays are expertly quartered and book matched throughout the case, comprising three banded panels across the front and additional large quartered panels on the sides. Top drawer has removable dividers, which easily lift out if desired. Nice large sand cast ring pulls are complemented with large decorative faux escutcheon plates at the center of each drawer. Thick conforming light grey figured marble top (1 ¼” thick) has a moulded edge. Ca. 1900. Very good antique condition, with only light wear, mainly occasional fritting to the edge of the marble top. Drawers function well and smoothly.
