This Mappin & Webb sterling Silver Spoon and Royal Doulton Porcelain traveling demitasse set is a real treasure for collectors. The set includes a demitasse cup, saucer, and demitasse Sterling spoon.
Boxed tea sets were originally a convenient way to travel or go on a picnic and still be able to have a civilized cup of tea halfway through the afternoon. As time went on they became more elaborate and the pieces ever finer, then the additional pieces like the teapot and creamer were removed and they became a special set to be given at an important occasion, like a wedding or other important event.
The cups and saucers are all made of delicate porcelain with a beautiful floral pattern in shades raspberry and gold. It's perfect for all occasions, whether you're entertaining guests or simply enjoying a cup of your favorite chocolate or espresso by yourself.
This original Art Deco set dates back to 1920-1930s and was manufactured in the United Kingdom. The sterling spoons are by the famous maker Mappin & Webb and appear to be gold vermeil. The gorgeous raspberry and gold color scheme adds a touch of classic elegance to any table setting.
