Lithopanes plaques were made between 1830 and 1900 mainly in Germany and England. They are unglazed white porcelain with impressed designs meant to seen by transmitted light. I bought this pair from an antique dealer in Arezzo, Tuscany and had them mounted on shades of an hand forged iron sconce.

The lithophanes plaques are 3 3/4 w x 4 1/2 h
The iron wall sconce without the shades is 16 1/2 w x 15h x 5d
When all assembled with the shades on, the wall sconce is 20 1/2 w x 16h x 6d less
