Iron wall sconce with antique lithophanes mounted on the shades. Lithopanes plaques were made between 1830 and 1900 mainly in Germany and England. They are unglazed white porcelain with impressed designs meant to seen by transmitted light. I bought this pair from an antique dealer in Arezzo, Tuscany and had them mounted on shades of an hand forged iron sconce.
The lithophanes plaques are 3 3/4 w x 4 1/2 h
The iron wall sconce without the shades is 16 1/2 w x 15h x 5d
When all assembled with the shades on, the wall sconce is 20 1/2 w x 16h x 6d less
