burin engraving printed on laid paper
engraver: louis de châtillon, born in sainte-menehould in 1639 and died in paris in 1734, was a french enamel and gouache painter and copper engraver. He created various portraits for louis xiv, which the king gave, set in jewels, to foreign ambassadors. Rubens' fates are engraved, depicting the fate of maria de' medici. Jean-baptiste massé was the master.
