A German tramp art flatware storage box with the initials “M M” & dated “1913” on top of box. It’s not often that you see this form in tramp art. It is not American and was most likely made in Germany. The date and initials probably reflect the original owner of the piece as it was probably commissioned. The piece would have been made out of old cigar boxes.
This box has 4 small raised feet with one foot partially missing. There are a few small chips throughout, but does not affect the overall appearance of this piece. The interior is lined with a blue velvet.
